  • Chamber honors several community leaders at Gala

The Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce presented its annual black-tie Gala Saturday evening at The Grandview in Poughkeepsie. More than 430 Chamber members, guests, and business community representatives enjoyed the Secret Garden theme while helping pay tribute to several community leaders and organizations.

“The Chamber’s annual gala has become a premier event in the Hudson Valley because of the level of support from our sponsors and the overwhelming amount of time and dedication the volunteers and staff put into making it an unforgettable evening,” said Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce President & CEO Frank Castella, Jr. “I want to sincerely thank everyone who came out to celebrate our inspirational honorees, and to especially thank our partners, members, and the business community for their continued support.”

More than 30 local businesses and organizations helped sponsor this event, the Chamber’s biggest fundraiser of the year. IBM was the platinum sponsor.

As is its tradition, the Chamber presented several awards during the night. Among the honorees:

    · Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corporation, a charter member of the Chamber, was presented with the Good Neighbor Award.

    · Joe Daily of Q92, known by many as the Morning Mayor, was presented with the Community Spirit Award.

    · Nevill Smythe, who has volunteered for countless organizations including the Chamber, was presented with the Community Service Award.

    · And the Hudson Valley Young Professionals helped present Next Generation Awards to Haeley Rios of Marion Salon Spa and Devon Luty & Mark Swenson, Jr. of Dorsey Metrology.
