Salary: $90,000–$110,000 + Performance-Based Incentives

Sparrow’s Nest is a fast-growing nonprofit delivering homemade meals to individuals and families facing cancer. With an expanded mission and community impact, we’re seeking a driven, strategic, and relationship-centered Development Director to grow and diversify our fundraising efforts.
Your Core Responsibilities:
Corporate & Event Sponsorships
Pitch and secure funding from businesses across the region. Build long-term partnerships that align with our events and mission.
Recurring Giving (Sparrow Circle)
Grow our monthly donor program with smart outreach strategies, compelling donor journeys, and creative campaigns.
Grant Writing - Research, write, and manage grant proposals. Cultivate relationships with funders and ensure timely reporting and compliance.
Donor Development - Build lasting relationships with donors—from first-time givers to major contributors. Develop strategies to deepen engagement and increase giving.
Board Collaboration - Partner with our Board to drive fundraising efforts. Equip and support them to leverage their networks and expand our reach.
Event Leadership - Take charge of who’s in the room. Shape event strategy and build committees with influence, not just capacity.
Fundraising Strategy - Create and execute a comprehensive development plan. Track progress, analyze data, and pivot as needed to exceed annual goals.
Performance Expectations:
Fundraising -raise $500,000 in new gifts and increase that number by 10 percent annually
Bonus: Earn a 10% performance retainer on funds raised beyond target
You Should Have:
5+ years in nonprofit fundraising or external relations
A track record of securing major gifts, sponsorships, or grants
Board engagement experience
Strategic event planning skills (beyond logistics)
Familiarity with donor database systems
Excellent storytelling and donor stewardship abilities
