Walkway Over the Hudson at the Highland Entrance, 87 Haviland Road, Highland, NY
ArchCare at Ferncliff Nursing Home and the Center for Neurodegenerative Care at ArchCare at Ferncliff in Rhinebeck have once again joined forces with the New York region of the Huntington’s Disease Society of America to sponsor the third annual Team Hope Walk – Hudson Valley on October 28 to raise funds for Huntington’s disease (HD) research and programs that support people with HD and their families in the Hudson Valley.
All community members are invited and encouraged to participate in the 2.5-mile walk along the Walkway Over the Hudson from its Highland entry to Poughkeepsie and back. Last year’s Team Hope Walk – Hudson Valley drew more than 130 participants and raised $34,000 for HD, a fatal genetic disorder that causes the progressive breakdown of nerve cells in the brain and affects an estimated 30,000 Americans.
Check-in for the event will begin at 8 a.m. on Sunday, October 28, at the Walkway’s Highland entrance, 87 Haviland Road, with the walk beginning at 9 a.m. To register, get details, fundraise or learn about sponsorship opportunities, visit www.hdsa.org/thwhudsonvalley.
Now in its 50 year, Team Hope Walk is HDSA’s largest national grassroots fundraising event, which takes place in more than 100 cities across the U.S and has raised more than $7 million for HD since its inception in 2007.
