Who wouldn’t want to spend the summer in Barcelona, Lisbon or Seville?
Well, if you don’t have the time or the money, you can taste Spain in a bottle – and imagine you are in Spain. Just add some tapas and some Spanish guitar and you are all set – oh, don’t forget the romantic low lighting outside on the patio.
Our Spanish lineup – 5 different choices!
Cubo Tempranillo – Tempranillo grape making this wine taste of fresh black fruit with just enough bright acidity to cut through “meaty” fare. Medium- bodied, and good slightly chilled. Great with medium weight foods, such as baked/grilled chicken, burgers, London broil.
Arca Nova Vinho Verde – Alvarinho grape(called Albarino in Spain)White, crisp white, white flowers and lemon. It’s made in the traditional way, as a very light-bodied wine with a slight spritz. At only 10.5% alcohol, and its refreshing flavor profile, this makes the quintessential summer wine. Drink by itself as an aperitif or with very light food, like green salad, lightly dressed or very light cheeses similar to Havarti.
Arca Nova Vinho Verde Rose’ from Espadiero. Espadiero is an indigenous grape to Spain, from the cool, wet area of northwest Spain. Like its white counterpart above, it has a traditional light Spritz. The flavor and aroma profile is dry, but with rip strawberry fruit. It makes great aperitif on its own or with slightly spicy thai food, or slightly salty foods like potato chips.
Colorea Verdejo – Verdejo grape from Spain. This wine comes from La Mancha, the plateau in the center of Spain, especially well known for its white wines. The wine has aromas of lemons and melon, with a palate of minerality and lemons as well. It will be appealing to the casual drinker as well as the connoisseur. Young and fresh, its perfect for shellfish, pasta with clam sauce or light cheese or simply prepared chicken.
Abad dom Bueno Godello – Godello grape from Spain. This is a floral, and “fruit forward” dry wine, that is fuller in body and creamy in texture. This wine wants a dense fish, medium weight cheeses, richer vegetarian dishes.
