Cultural and social historian Lisa Trivedi will explore the lives of women in 20th century India in the lecture ''Depicting Labor, Performing Labor: Women at Work in Ahmedabad, 1937'' on October 6 at 5:30pm in Taylor Hall, Room 203. Trivedi's talk will focus on photographs that were commissioned by the Jyoti Sangh, a women's philanthropic organization dedicated to women's advocacy, support, and vocational training. This event is free and open to the public.
