Description
The event, “An Evening with Zadie Smith” will feature Smith reading from recent works. She will also be interviewed by Vassar Professor of English Amitava Kumar. A question and answer session and book signing will follow. The author of six critically praised novels, Smith was elected a fellow of the Royal Society of Literature in 2002. In a 2004 BBC poll of cultural researchers, Smith was named among the top twenty most influential people in British culture. Smith has won the Orange Prize for Fiction and the Anisfield-Wolf Book Award. Her novel White Teeth was included in Time magazine's list of “100 Best English-language Novels from 1923 to 2005.” Smith is also a frequent contributor to the New Yorker, and a creative writing professor at New York University.
