Greystone Programs, Inc., a Hopewell Junction-based nonprofit human services agency, announces its 28th Annual International Wine Showcase & Auction, a fundraiser event that supports people with developmental disabilities and, this year, honors M&T Bank and the Marcinkowski-Robitaille-Sherman family. The event will take place on Sunday, September 10, from 2:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at The Grandview, 176 Rinaldi Boulevard, Poughkeepsie, NY. The indoor and al fresco fundraising event draws connoisseurs, collectors and casual sippers for a day of wine tasting, elegant food, live music, and live and silent auctions to raise funds for Hudson Valley children, adults and families with autism and other developmental disabilities served by Greystone Programs. The event funds support Greystone’s Expressive Arts programs and other services. “Greystone Program’s commitment to supporting people with autism and other developmental disabilities is unrivaled,” said Philip J. DeAngelo, owner and managing director of Focused Wealth Management, one of the event’s sponsors, along with Rose & Kiernan and M&T Bank. “Each year we look forward to sharing in this event as a wonderful way for all of us to come together for an evening of wine, food and fun while supporting the organization’s important work.” This year’s business honoree, M&T Bank is being recognized for its work as a valued business partner, event sponsor and grant provider. The Marcinkowski-Robitaille-Sherman family, this year’s honoree from the private sector, has been a major contributor to Greystone since 1984 when a family member first came to live at a Greystone home. “Our Annual International Wine Showcase & Auction is the place to be,” said Skip Pryce, Greystone’s chief executive officer. “There’s no better way to enjoy the company of others than with an event that recognizes our supporters, brings together community sponsors and raises money in support of programs for our families.” Throughout the event, wines from around the world will be paired with fabulous food, including a not-to-be-missed seafood extravaganza, passed and plated hors d’oeuvres, carving and food stations, desserts, cappuccinos and cordials. The evening also will feature the progressive sounds of bassist Damon Banks accompanied by violinist Gwen Laster, plus acoustic classics provided by guitarist Jeff Armstrong.
