    Support each other this summer

The Chamber just completed The Great Hudson Valley Scavenger Hunt in June, and I am happy to report it as a great success. There were more than 75 participating Chamber member locations, 500 community participants, and more than 1,700 check-ins at business locations throughout the Hudson Valley. This drew attention to businesses that many had never visited before, and engaged the community in a creative and fun activity. We couldn’t have done this without the support of a great committee, professional staff, and especially our underwriting sponsors, starting with Title Sponsor KeyBank.

As you know, the Chamber exists and plans events for the benefit of local businesses, but I am also proud of the way that the business community mutually supports the work of the Chamber and the Chamber Foundation. As many area businesses are still rebounding from the worldwide challenges of the last few years – don’t forget that this support goes a long way.

Other ways to keep the Think Local First momentum going throughout the year is to use the Chamber’s Business Directory to seek out products or services or plan activities, nominate a deserving colleague for the local ATHENA Awards, or volunteer as a mentor for the Chamber Foundation. When each of us does our part and joins in, it benefits the whole region with ripple effects. Reach out to me or the Chamber directly with any questions or ideas about how we can work together and support each other.
