  • Congressman Faso spoke at August breakfast

United States Congressman John Faso, representing District 19, gave the keynote address at the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce’s Contact Breakfast on Wednesday, August 16 from 7:30-9 a.m. at the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel.

In November 2016, Faso was elected to represent the 19th district of New York, which includes all or part of eleven counties in the Capital Region, Catskills, Central New York regions and the Hudson Valley. In congress, according to Faso's website, he is committed to advocating policies to increase opportunities for families and support reforms to boost the economy to help improve the quality of life. The website also states he has championed his ideas to combat the heroin epidemic, treat Lyme disease, and increase health-insurance coverage options for patients and small businesses. As a first-term member of congress, Faso has been appointed to the House Budget, Transportation, Infrastructure, and Agriculture committees.

Faso is a former Republican leader of the New York State Assembly where he developed and pushed proposals that lead to real balanced budgets, including the first reduction in state spending in over five decades while closing a $5 billion dollar deficit. He and his wife reside in Kinderhook, New York.
