About Women's Leadership Alliance

The Women’s Leadership Alliance is an affiliate of the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce. Our mission is to empower women through advocacy, collaboration and leadership. Our networking opportunities—attended predominately by women—offer a collegial, friendly environment for developing meaningful business relationships. We also offer educational events to grow and learn both personally and professionally. The WLA collaborates with women’s organizations throughout the region to post events and information of concern to women on our website. All WLA members serve on a volunteer basis. Chamber members are welcome to join one of our committees.

The wlahv.org website is our principle means of communicating with members and nonmembers. Our goal for the website is to be a central place to get information about women and women’s events in the Hudson Valley. The News section allows us to post news about issues affecting women locally, nationally and internationally; share inspirational or educational TED talks, books and webinars; and announce upcoming events hosted by the WLA and other women’s organizations. We also post news about area events and activities that advocate for women or women’s issues or offer educational or networking opportunities for women.

The Girl Scouts Heart of the Hudson has the privilege to serve approximately 30,000 girls throughout Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Sullivan, Ulster, and Westchester Counties. They’re a part of a community of girls and women looking to experience new challenges, make friends, serve the community, and discover skills and interests. Their girls are discovering what’s important to them, creating adventures, and taking action to make the world a better place!

Recognized as the area’s largest youth-serving organization, they have offices located in Kingston, Middletown, New City, Pleasantville, and Poughkeepsie.
