Chance to win Grand Prize: $2,024, additional rewards, and other amazing prizes! It's FREE to play with NO STRINGS attached. Here’s how it works: 

1: The contest runs from July 1 – July 31 and you can enter at any time before or during the event.

2: Register and create a team name – you can play alone or with others. You must enter a team name in order to win prizes. In order to be entered into the Grand Prize drawing you must be 18 years of age or older.

3: Earn points by visiting participating locations during the contest period, scanning the QR code, and entering the specific keyword on the poster prominently placed at these locations (front door, window, etc.). Each location is worth points:

EARN 3 POINTS by visiting any Participating member, listed on this page at any time during the contest period.

EARN 4 POINTS by visiting any Sponsored location, indicated by an asterisk, at any time during the contest period.

EARN 5 POINTS by visiting the Featured location on the designated day. Tune into Q92.1 - "Marino In The Morning" show, listen each morning in the 8 AM hour and follow for that day's special clue to the Featured location. The clue will also be posted on social media with #HVScavengerHunt on the same day.  There is a different featured location each day during the contest period, with additional prizes up for grabs. New this year: "FIND MARINO'S MONEY" – minimum of $50 prizes for each of the 31 featured locations, throughout the Hudson Valley! The first person to visit the featured location on the given day will be rewarded with a prize. Team entries are time-stamped within the contest point tracking system database. The contest organizers will know who, and which team, visited each of the (31) featured locations, first. Winners will be contacted within two business days, following the featured day, and will have the option to pick up their prize at either the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce office or at the Grand Prize Drawing Ceremony on August 2.  

***You must physically visit, and arrive at the location for the "day of" featured location day's special keyword. The keyword just for their featured day is different from their other keyword for the remainder of the contest.

(If you visit a Featured location prior to its Featured day and earn 3 points, visiting a Featured location again on its designated Featured day will give you two additional points only.) 

EARN 10 BONUS POINTS X4  You will have the chance to earn up to 40 Bonus Points (10 points at each location) during the course of The Great Hudson Valley Scavenger Hunt. Follow our Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce Facebook and Instagram pages during The Great Hudson Valley Scavenger Hunt contest and watch for the four posts that can help you to earn a possible 10 points each, if you solve the clue. Please note: Bonus Points are more difficult to achieve, as the clues are harder to solve, and the location of the QR Code is NOT posted as a “Participating Location”. Bonus Points locations are members of the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce, as are all contest locations.

4: At each location you visit, find the Scavenger Hunt poster displayed in a prominent position, scan the QR code using your smartphone’s camera app, and click on the link. Follow the prompts and enter your team name and the location’s specific keyword displayed on the poster. Go to the location during posted business hours for additional discounts, deals and chances to win extra prizes.

5: Click SUBMIT and head off to your next location.

6: When you hit SUBMIT, we are tracking your points. You should keep track of your own points too so you can follow your own progress. We have made it easy to track your points with the Handy Tracking Map. The Handy Tracking Map is for your personal point tracking only and you do not need to submit a copy to us. Once you get to 40 points you are automatically entered into the Grand Prize raffle, for a chance to win $2,024, additional rewards, plus other great prizes along the way.

Prize Levels: 

• Grand Prize: Team with the MOST Points – chance to win $2024 in cash AND five flight vouchers valued at $400 each, courtesy of our title sponsor, Breeze Airways in partnership with the New York Stewart International Airport. Visit as many places as you can to get as many points as possible. When you check-in at each location, by scanning a QR code at the participating location, our system will track the points automatically for you. Contest ties will be broken via a random drawing. 
• 2nd Place Prize: Accumulate 50 pts or higher and you will be entered for a chance to win $750 in cash and other prizes.
• 3rd Place Prize: Accumulate 40 pts or higher and you will be entered for a chance to win an overnight stay at The Kartrite Indoor Waterpark and other prizes.
• 92 Points: First participating team to reach 92 points during the contest period will be awarded a prize. 
• Best Selfie: Submit by hashtagging #HVScavengerHunt, or email the photo to alana@dcrcoc.org.
• Best Team Spirit: Dress up in costume and send us your results! Submit by hashtagging #HVScavengerHunt, or email the photo to alana@dcrcoc.org.
• Best Team Name: Determined by The Great Hudson Valley Scavenger Hunt Committee.
• Daily Prizes: There will be Daily Prizes and rewards given at the location, for those who visit the Featured locations on the day the clue is released. Each of these locations may also be running their own promotions and prize giveaways.

All prizes will be announced following the conclusion of the contest. The Grand Prize winner and additional team prize winner(s) will be announced on Friday, August 2.
