Tips for Job Seekers

Dress for the Job You Want:

  • Being in the right mindset starts with wearing the right clothes. Dressing appropriately could make you stand out as the professional candidate a company is looking for. Business casual attire is usually appropriate.

Have a Resume Ready:

  • Make sure you have an edited and spell-checked resume ready so if you are asked for one by an employer, you're prepared.

Don't Be Shy:

  • Have questions ready for employers you're interested in speaking with and show them you're interested. Having questions tailored for each employer you're interested in speaking to will show you have initiative and are forward-thinking.
Dress for Success

"Styling on the Go," a mobile suiting opportunity provided by Dress for Success Dutchess County, a program of Community Action Partnership for Dutchess County. Women job seekers who need help polishing their professional image that day, can contact Robin Blue-Brown, Program Director to schedule an appointment. Styling on the Go consultants will work with candidates to help them look their best. Robin and her team will have an assortment of career ensembles on site. For best results, they strongly suggest job seekers to call ahead of time and make an appointment. Those taking advantage of this opportunity will get to keep their outfit.

Appointments are available and can be scheduled by calling (845) 452-5104 ext. 138. This service is complimentary.
