New Initiatives Launched by Dutchess County Medical Society
Poughkeepsie, NY – On Wednesday, October 23, 2019, The Dutchess County Medical Society will inaugurate its new officers at its Annual Membership Meeting to be held at Millbrook Winery. New president, Dr. Manoj Abraham of Poughkeepsie’s Facial Plastic Reconstructive and Laser Surgery and Oasis MediSpa will join a panel of other prominent speakers on the “Future of Medicine in Dutchess County.” These will include Bonnie Litvack, MD, 9th District Counselor / Medical Society of the State of New York VP; and A. K. Vaidian, MD, MPH, Dutchess County Health Commissioner.
During this meeting, there will be a number of extremely timely topics addressed with important relevance to the local community.
Dr. Abraham said, “We are launching a number of exciting new initiatives including a quarterly dinner meeting series at which we will discuss the new NY State Regulations on Vaping and Vaccinations, the Opioid Crisis, Surprise Medical Bills and the impact on our local community.”
In addition, there will be an update presented on the latest developments from Marist College’s new Medical School and PA Program by Alicia Slater, MD, Dean of the School of Science and Member of the Medical School Planning Committees; and Elizabeth Young, MS, PA-C, Clinical Coordinator / Assistant Professor, Marist College Physician Assistant Program.
The Dutchess County Medical Society promotes the highest standards of trust, respect and excellence in the medical profession, while representing the practice of medicine and the status of public health in Dutchess County. It also encourages advancements in education in the science of medicine.
