    Wappingers Falls, NY - Back2Health Yoga has announced they will hold a Yoga for Scoliosis class on June 18th for Scoliosis Awareness Month.  Registration is now open for this special workshop.
    Yoga has become an effective alternative to relieve chronic pain associated with scoliosis. Yoga for Scoliosis is a growing specialty that provides a holistic approach to ease structural imbalances caused by curves in the spine.
    This workshop will teach participants the foundational skills needed to work with scoliosis and/or fusions, including understanding the curves and how to work with them. Participants will learn basic anatomy of the spine related to scoliosis and how to modify the poses to develop greater spinal length and create new patterns of movement. 
    Owner & Instructor, Cristina Roy, is trained in Yoga for Back Care and Scoliosis and founded Back2Health Yoga so that she may provide yoga to help individuals suffering with back pain and looking for alternative options to alleviate their pain.  Having scoliosis herself, Cristina recognizes the importance of safe exercises that emphasize alignment and improve posture.  Yoga for scoliosis tend to both of these aspects and provide great relief to those with spinal asymmetries.
    In the workshop participants you will learn:
    • Basic anatomy of the spine related to scoliosis
    • Principles of yoga for scoliosis
    • Poses that lengthen and de-rotate the spine
    • Learn how to modify the pose depending on your curve pattern
    • A simple yoga sequence for scoliosis
