    Job Description
    Hudson Valley Community Services is looking for an experienced grant writer who also has a donor-centric, customer service mindset to join our small but vibrant development department. Your experience and knowledge will help us sustain our programs for low-income Hudson Valley residents who live with chronic illnesses, and help diversify our funding and increase our impact.

    The Grants & Fundraising Manager is responsible for the overall project management and implementation involved in all government, foundation, and corporate grant initiatives. This involves researching, planning, developing, preparing, coordinating and submitting grant proposals. The Grants & Fundraising Manager is also responsible for some donor cultivation and individual supporter stewardship.

    Primary Responsibilities:
    •     Facilitate grant application processes, including, but not limited to, identifying grant opportunities, coordinating internal meetings to develop the proposal, creating timelines of responsibilities and due dates, writing of proposals, coordinating all activities of those involved in a given grants production, providing ongoing, timely communication with senior management regarding the production of grants, and assuring the timely preparation, revision, and submission of all proposals;
    •     Maintain organized and up-to-date files of all routinely required documents needed for grant submissions;
    •     Coordinate data needed for grant submissions, and together with the Data Base Manager, develop data reports on client demographics and program services for grant writing and reporting purposes;
    •     Develop and maintain working relationships with all grant-related funding sources;
    •     Work closely with employees on all levels to develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of all HVCS programs and program needs;
    •     Manage an assigned portfolio of donors, communicate regularly with supporters, and actively participate in donor campaigns and solicitations;
    •     Perform detailed analysis of donor/supporter data, histories and trends using the agencys donor database;
    •     Assist in the creation, production, execution and analysis of fundraising, friendraising and donor appreciation special events;
    •     Participate in management meetings;
    •     Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Public Relations & Resource Enhancement.

    •     Bachelors Degree in Liberal Arts, Social Services or related field.
    •     Successful history of grant writing and project management.
    •     Excellent written and verbal skills.
    •     Experience with online grant interfaces such as the New York State Grants Gateway, New York Citys CAMS (Contracting & Managing Services), CDC or other federal online gateways.
    •     Knowledge of or the ability to quickly learn the healthcare and social service environments of the Hudson Valley.
    •     Strong interpersonal skills, excellent organizational and time management skills.
    •     Ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities and deadlines.
    This position is based in our Hawthorne, NY (Westchester County) office but some remote/work from home time is available.
