Like the people we serve, Poughkeepsie-based Greystone Programs thinks differently. We don't host golf outings or walkathons. Instead, we invite you to join us on an EXHILARATING SKYDIVING ADVENTURE, to raise funds and awareness for Autism, a pervasive developmental disorder that now affects 1 in 68 American children. April is Autism Awareness Month. Join us in the air -- OR -- on the ground for food, fun, music by the Band SLICE, a special beer being brewed by North River Hops & Brewing (Wappingers Falls), and festivities/contests. Professional skydivers welcome. Amateur jumpers, too, to skydive "tandem" -- meaning you will be harnessed to a professional licensed skydiver. We are also looking for spectators who make an online or day-of-event donation of $25.00 or more per person and support the cause as part of the "ground crew." Your donation entitle4s you to all food and festivities. Greystone Programs beqan in 1979, under founder Marc W. Kelley, when we opened THE VERY FIRST group home in NY State for people with Autism. Today we provide exceptional services and life-enriching opportunities for more than 500 children, adults and families with Autism and other developmental disabilities in five Hudson Valley Counties. NOTE: START TIME WILL FLUCTUATE BASED ON THE NUMBER OF REGISTERED SKYDIVERS. We can take 10 tandem jumpers per planeload. ALSO: Rain/wind date Saturday, April 30.
