  • How The Chamber And The Chamber Foundation Work Together

Many of our members and those within our communities are aware of the great work done by The Chamber Foundation, Inc. That organization, which is a separate non-profit entity that is run by the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce, presents leadership programming for youth and adults, mentoring programs, fundraising events, and awards tens of thousands of dollars each year in the form of scholarships to worthy recipients.

The Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce is a membership organization that provides resources and opportunities for its members, and also presents many events during the year for networking, education, exposure for our sponsors, and to help fund the non-profit Chamber. It is understandable to get a little confused, especially when it comes to events. What is a Chamber event? What is a Foundation event? Which organization is an individual supporting when they purchase a ticket to attend?

In short, any event that we present benefits the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce and The Chamber Foundation. Proceeds are used for programming, scholarships, membership resources, and general operating expenses. It’s important to point this out as a way of clarifying what we do and how we do it.

The continued level of support from our members, sponsors, and community partners has not wavered during the last turbulent year. The businesses and organizations that are part of our Chamber have recognized the critical need for us to provide important guidance and resources, continued leadership programming for those in age from 16 to 60, and workforce initiatives for individuals in need that want to contribute as employees in our region.

The staff here are hard-working and dedicated individuals who serve our members and the community. It does not matter if their business card says Chamber or Chamber Foundation; what does matter is the work they do as an advocate for business, the authoritative informational source on matters affecting business, and the unwavering champion for the region’s economic health. That is our mission. We’ve been here for 115 years, and we will continue to lead these efforts now and into the future.

Thank you for your support, and please remember to Think Local First.
