  • Dutchess Chamber announces 2018 Forty Under 40 Honorees

For the 13th year, the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce, in conjunction with previous recipients of the Forty Under 40 Award, has identified a talented and diverse group of young professionals in the Hudson Valley to be presented with a Mover & Shaker Award.

Bestowed annually to 40 people under the age of 40 who have shown a strong commitment to the Hudson Valley, the Mover & Shaker Awards honor the next generation of leaders in our region. A selection committee comprised of former honorees judge nominations based on professional and community achievements. They score each nomination independently of each other and the Chamber, and the scores are then tallied to determine the Top 40. Neither the Chamber staff nor any sponsors or partners influence the judging in any way.

“The 40 young professionals who have been chosen by a committee of their peers, truly represent the best and brightest in the Hudson Valley,” said Frank Castella, Jr., President and CEO of the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce. “Everyone at the Chamber sincerely congratulates the honorees and I am especially excited to see how they shape our community in the years to come.”

Chosen from a pool of over 100 nominations, the 2018 Forty Under 40 honorees encompass professions ranging from fitness trainers, investors and bankers, doctors, engineers, teachers, veterans and more.

"It has been very exciting but also a difficult task to be a part of the selection process to pick the next 40 Under Forty Movers & Shakers in the Hudson Valley,” said Selection Committee Co-Chair Candice Signor-Brown of Vassar College, a 2016 honoree. “There are a lot of young professionals who give their time and talents in our community. That is what makes it a great place to live and work."

“What amazes me is the depth of quality and talent in each of the nominees,” said Selection Committee Co-Chair Philip Bronzi of Tompkins Mahopac Bank, a 2016 honoree. “I underestimated just how difficult selecting the top 40 would be. Once you learn about this diverse group of passionate individuals, and the impact they are having on this area, you can’t help but feel energized about the future of the Hudson Valley.”

The Mover & Shaker Awards will be presented on Thursday, April 5 at the Changepoint Theatre in Poughkeepsie. A cocktail reception at the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel will precede the ceremony.  Complete information about the event, including how to obtain tickets, is available online at dcrcoc.org/40Under40.
