All employers are required to provide a written sexual harassment prevention policy and interactive training to all employees on an annual basis – regardless of employer size or if they are a for-profit or nonprofit organization.
The Chamber provides a free on-demand training and policy that is designed to exceed the requirements provided by the NYS Department of Labor and the Division of Human Rights. Our free program is easy to follow and quick to implement. We understand the burden the state imposes on employers, and for many, it simply is not feasible to pay an outside agency up to $75 per employee to remain in compliance, therefore we have developed a program for you.
Yes, every employee must complete the training annually, including full-time employees, part-time employees, seasonal employees, contracted employees, and interns, even if they completed the training previously. Failure to do so will not only result in state-imposed fines but you can be sentenced to jail and be held personally liable in any lawsuit relating to sexual harassment.
